Collaborative Portraits

Quick Sketch Covid Portraits

Students were given the opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings about Covid in a quick collaborative portrait challenge. Each used a sharpie taped to a PVC pipe to draw a part of a face then each moved to the drawing next to them to add another feature. This continued until each collaborative portrait was complete. Students were then asked to write a word or phrase on a mask to add to the expression of their pandemic experience. When asked why they thought it was important to make this a collaboration instead of individual portraits, one student replied,

"Because we all have to deal with this together".

Murals!

Way to go Painting II students!
"Hey Tina...They are up! I am over the moon in love with them. Your students are fantastic!!!!!!!" - Dana Ness MTA Sports Center

Painting II students created a 40' mural for the MTA Sports Center. Students started with an abstract color scheme similar to the MTA logos and ads. They cut silhouette stencils to complete the spray paint and acrylic design.
